AKRON: Margaret Halter of Tallmadge has been sworn in by Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands as a member of the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board. Her term will run through June 2014.
Halter earned a doctor of philosophy in nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and a master’s in nursing with a psychiatric focus from Kent State University. She has taught nursing for the past 21 years and became the associate dean of Ashland University’s College of Nursing in July.
She edits and authors Foundations of Psychiatric Nursing, a leading nursing textbook, and has experience in general and state psychiatric institutions.
