The Dwight Schar College of Nursing is sponsoring a conference titled "Developing Cultural Competencies: A Life-long Journey for Nurses". The conference will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 in Redwood Hall on the Ashland University campus.
Dr. Sandra J. Mixer, PhD, RN, CTN-A will be presenting. Mixer is Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing, University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She is recognized by the Transcultural Nursing Society as a Certified Transcultural Nurse-Advanced and a Transcultural Nursing Scholar. Dr. Mixer is a nationally recognized transcultural nursing and education expert through her research, publication, presentation, consultation and service. She is well known in the nursing community. Mixer will speak at two afternoon sessions on Friday February 17, 2012. Both of these sessions are open to the Ashland University community as well as other interested professionals.
