The Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences recently received full approval from the Ohio Board of Regents to offer a graduate level School Nurse Licensure (SNL) program.
SNL Director Holly Finks said, "This graduate level program reflects the latest
standards in Ohio for School Nurse Licensure programs. In 2010, new standards were authored by the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Board of Regents, and the National
Association of School Nurses."
Ashland University’s newly approved graduate level School Nurse Licensure Program
will begin serving students in academic year 2013-2014. The School Nurse Licensure Program works in
coordination with the College of Education to establish on-site school internships as the capstone course in
the curriculum. Completion of the program indicates that a student has met the educational expectations to apply for the professional School Nurse
License issued by the Ohio Department of
Education.
