Dr. Deborah Sullivan and Student Attend Conference

AU Professor Dr. Deborah Sullivan of Ashland and Mikaela Bush of Radnor, Ohio, attended the Ohio Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (OAFCS) Conference held March 17 and 18 in Dublin, Ohio.

Bush gave an oral presentation, “Advancing Nutrition Education with Interactive, Technology-Based Lessons” during one of the peer-reviewed educational sessions. She shared activities and information from her student teaching internship that was under the direction of Andrea Young, a 1988 AU graduate, at Crestview High School, and also shared resources, curriculum ideas and technology-based lessons with her audience. Sullivan serves as Bush’s academic advisor.

OAFCS is an affiliate of AAFCS, the comprehensive, integrative source of knowledge and the primary of voice of individual, family, and community well-being in the United States. AAFCS is the only national organization uniting, and promoting professionals in all areas of family and consumer science. These include human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel and design, and family resource management.
