The Dwight Schar College of Nursing Alumni Association held their annual banquet eptember 26, 2014, at the Brown Derby Roadhouse in Ontario. There were approximately 60 alumni in attendance from Mansfield General Hospital School of
Nursing, MedCentral College of Nursing and AU Dwight Schar College of Nursing.
The primary function of the nursing alumni association is to raise money for student scholarships and to support other activities of the nursing students. This year the alumni were able to give three $1000 scholarships. Winners were chosen by the alumni executive board based on an essay each applicant wrote answering the question "What are the qualities of a good nurse and how do you meet that criteria". The students receiving the scholarships were Robyn Siburt, Justin McMahon and Charles Murray.

Also honored during the evening were the 25 and 50 year graduates. There were 14 graduates from the 1964 Class of Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing. There was one graduate from the 1989B Class of Mansfield General and for the first time, we had two graduates of the RN to BSN 1989 Class of Ashland University.
