Jackie Owens Publishes Article

Dr. Jackie Owens, associate professor of nursing, published an article, "Bad Language and Scholarly Publishing: Use It or Lose it?," on July 20 in Nurse Author & Editor, Volume 29, Issue 3. The article discusses editorial decisions about the use of profanity, slang, and colloquialisms that are hurtful or possibly incendiary versus the desire to preserve quotes and original context. Owens serves on the editorial board as an Author-in-Residence for Nurse Author & Editor. This newsletter has been published since 1991 as an international publication appropriate for nurse authors, editors, and reviewers. It is currently published by Wiley-Blackwell as a free, biweekly online publication.
